Ukraine to receive 200 International MaxxPro MRAP mine-resistant vehicles
U.S. officials announced on October 4th, 2022 an additional $625 million in aid to Ukraine, which includes 200 MaxxPro mine-resistant vehicles. The new American assistance package for Ukraine includes a batch of MaxxPro Mine Resistance Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles. The International MaxxPro is a 4×4 armored vehicle developed for the U.S. military’s mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicle program.
The vehicle was designed to take part in the US Military’s Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle program, led by the US Marine Corps, as well as a similar US Army-led Medium Mine Protected Vehicle program. MRAPs are categorized as category 1 or category 2, depending on usage and passenger compartment space.
The MaxxPro base model utilizes a crew capsule with a V-shaped hull, mounted on an International 7000 chassis. The V-hull deflects the blast of a land mine or improvised explosive device (IED) away from the vehicle to protect its occupants.
According to Navistar Defense, the vehicle is designed with operational readiness in mind and utilizes standardized, easily available parts, to ensure rapid repair and maintenance. The armored body is bolted together instead of welded, as in other MRAPs. This facilitates repair in the field and is a contributing factor to Navistar’s greater production capacity for the MaxxPro.

TOP GUN Service Manager Training Event
Recently, Gibbs Truck Centers hosted a 2-day training event, which was filled with ice-breakers, strong fixed-ops content, management training, customer service pointers, motivation, laughs, good food, and of course fun!
The first day, Gibbs Truck Centers Service Managers, Lease & Rental managers, Body Shop manager, Quik Lube manager enjoyed themselves learning & having dinner and drinks at a local fish house. Also in attendance were our friends from Navistar.
This terrific first day consisted of our managers presenting, learning, and encouraging their fellow managers in various ways to improve service and business processes. All aspects were covered, including customer service, warranty, SOPs, and billing & financials.
On the second day, the managers from all departments, as well as representatives from Navistar and KEA Advisors, worked on ways to enhance and improve departmental & technician efficiency, productivity, and reporting. It was a great way to wrap up such an important and fun event that is going to help Gibbs Truck Centers continue to provide the best and most efficient service possible to all of our customers.

Introducing Navistar's new, state-of-the-art, industry leading manufacturing facility in San Antonio, TX.
Located near Interstate 35, off U.S. Highway 281 in San Antonio, TX, the new 1,000,000-square-foot plant will have the capacity to produce medium-duty trucks, bringing more than 600 jobs to the San Antonio area.
The location of the San Antonio plant allows for significant logistics improvements and a consolidation of the company's supply base. The new facility will also incorporate the latest manufacturing principles – digital factory, connected machinery, robust lean manufacturing processes and cloud analytics – to enable predictive quality and maintenance, and allow data-driven decisions to be made on the shop floor in real time.
"We are excited to launch Manufacturing 4.0 concepts at our new facility, as these advancements will reduce manufacturing complexity and increase quality. Sharing these new industrial advances and Manufacturing 4.0 concepts with our existing plants is an additional benefit we anticipate from our experience with this new facility." The industry-leading facility will include a general assembly line, body shop, paint shop and logistics center, as well as a truck specialty center, to make aftermarket modifications on-site.

At a recent computer expo, Bill Gates reportedly compared the auto industry with the computer industry, saying "If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1000 miles to the gallon."
In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating "Yes, but would you want your car to crash twice a day?"

Take A Look At The New 2023 Isuzu F-Series Trucks
"The F-Series trucks are engineered to be powerful and strong. Now available in class 6 and 7, their low cab forward design gives owners and drivers the maneuverability, visibility, power, and payload to move their cargo with ease."
Isuzu F-Series trucks are powered by the Cummins B6.7, the most popular engine ever built by Cummins. This 6.7-liter turbocharged inline 6-cylinder diesel engine puts out 260 horsepower and 660 lb.-ft. of torque through an Allison 2000-series RDS transmission.
As with all Isuzu low cab forward trucks, F-Series models feature superb maneuverability, visibility, and comfort. Add in Isuzu’s rugged chassis, driverfriendly Hexapod cab, the new Cummins/Allison powertrain and Isuzu’s long-standing reputation for low total cost of ownership and it becomes clear. An F-Series truck is the right choice.
